Dustin Darker Station 26 Park Hill Firemen's Memorial Diacetyl Prevention Pro-Am Fun Run Race for the Cure 0.5k RECAP
On Saturday, June 10, we gathered together to run the ultimate test of endurance just for the sheer challenge: a "0.5k," around the Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Park Hill. The Underachiever's Marathon.
Pre-run beers were shared, as were powdered donuts and coffee at the halfway mark to refuel for the rest of the run. We had costumes, kids, dogs, rollerblades, scooters, wagons, and piggyback rides.
Chris Dismuke blessed us with live music on the patio after the run, and good times were had by all (we hope!).
Most importantly, each runner's $5 entry fee was donated to the Colorado Professional Fire Fighters Foundation. All told, we raised $1,050 for the CPFF, and we are damn proud of that! Cheers to all of you for making it happen.
Here's an awesome recap video made by Jess McKenzie. Check it out!
